At Palmers Produce in Bower Hinton, this is a time of both joy and heartbreak, where long nights, early mornings, and an unshakeable commitment to the animals come together in a powerful display of what it truly means to be a farmer.

During our visit, we also met Jess, a young girl from the local secondary school who is helping Jessy as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award. With kindness, diligence, and a natural instinct for animal care, she was fully invested in the well-being of the lambs—a wonderful thing to see in someone so young.

Encouraging the next generation to take an interest in farming is essential. With young people like Jess stepping forward, there is hope for the future of British agriculture—but only if we continue to nurture and support them.
