Tucked away in the heart of South Somerset, the glorious grounds of Barrington Court were bursting with energy this Easter, as families flocked to take part in the National Trust’s Kids Easter Trail – and what a treat it was!

Set in sweeping gardens that go on forever (seriously, the kids will be thrilled – and worn out by the end of it!), this self-led trail was just the right mix of fun and freedom. Whether you dashed around in an hour or made a whole afternoon of it, there was no pressure – just sunshine, smiles, and lots of Easter excitement.

Spring Gardens and Spectacular Tulips at Barrington Court

The gardens are truly something special this time of year. Each section reveals a new perspective on the magnificent Tudor house, like opening chapters in a storybook. And the tulips – oh the tulips! – were a riot of colour, lighting up the borders and making every corner camera-worthy. It’s impossible not to stop and soak it all in.

And just a short stroll from the main entrance, you’ll find another local gem: The Barrington Barkery. Open Wednesday to Saturday, this place is an absolute delight. Their ginger biscuit is the stuff of local legend, and paired with a perfectly brewed coffee, it’s the dream takeaway treat to enjoy while sitting on a bench by the Court. Honestly – bliss.
