About Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor rises proudly from the Somerset Levels, a distinctive hill topped with the striking remains of St Michael’s Tower. Steeped in legend, history, and spiritual significance, the Tor has become one of Somerset’s most iconic and best-loved landmarks – drawing visitors from around the world.
From the summit, the views stretch for miles across the surrounding countryside, taking in the Mendips, Quantocks, and even the distant shimmer of the Bristol Channel on a clear day. But it’s not just the scenery that captures the imagination – Glastonbury Tor is wrapped in layers of myth, from tales of King Arthur and Avalon to ley lines and energy points believed by many to make this a powerful spiritual site.
The climb to the top is short but steep, and well worth the effort. Whether you come for the history, the stories, the walk, or the peaceful atmosphere, it’s a place that stays with you long after you’ve left.
Hidden Somerset is all about discovering places with heart and heritage, and Glastonbury Tor has both in abundance – a magical must-visit that blends natural beauty with ancient wonder in the most unforgettable way.
