About I Made This Driftwood Workshops

Dan Wakeman, the creative mind behind I Made This, runs inspiring driftwood sculpture workshops throughout the year. These sessions take place at his West Coker workshop or at select external venues, offering a hands-on experience in crafting with reclaimed materials.

A favorite among participants is the Make Your Own Dinky Highland Cow workshop—a fun, accessible session where attendees create their own unique Highland cow sculpture from driftwood and recycled wood. No previous experience is needed, as Dan provides expert guidance throughout.

Beyond his own workshops, Dan collaborates with venues like the Minstead Study Centre, expanding his creative sessions to include making hearts, stags, and more. Each workshop embraces sustainable artistry, allowing participants to craft beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces while learning new skills. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced maker, Dan’s workshops offer a relaxed and rewarding environment to explore the possibilities of driftwood sculpture.

What is a Hidden Gem?

Hidden Gems are places we have discovered and visited in person, that we think need to be shared with anyone visiting South Somerset.

If you think you have uncovered something special, let us know so we can see it for ourselves!
