Pitney Farm Shop, located in the heart of Pitney, South Somerset, is a family-run establishment dedicated to providing the highest quality locally sourced organic produce at affordable prices.
The Walrond family, who have farmed in the area for over 200 years, transitioned to organic farming in 1999, ensuring that most of the products sold in the shop are grown or reared on-site.
The shop offers a diverse range of products, including organic beef, pork, and lamb from their own livestock, as well as Somerset turkeys, local geese, chickens, and ducks. Additionally, customers can find homemade streaky bacon and chipolatas, reflecting the farm’s commitment to traditional, sustainable farming practices.
Adjacent to the shop is the Pitney Farm Café, which makes everything from scratch and offers brunch, lunch, evening events, cakes, and more. The café’s menu features dishes prepared with ingredients sourced directly from the farm, ensuring fresh and flavorful meals.
The farm also boasts a 4.5-acre market garden, managed by Adi and Rita, who were recognised as the 2024 Young Organic Growers of the Year. This garden supplies fresh, high-quality organic vegetables year-round, further enhancing the shop’s offerings.
